The Forum was set up in 1992 under the name of the Third Level Forum.\u00a0 The Forum includes all of the Universities and the Institutes of Technology.\u00a0 The title was changed to include the word \u2018Computing\u2019.\u00a0 There is no perfect word to encompass the range of courses covered by this continually expanding field but the Forum decided that Computing was the most appropriate fit.<\/p>\n
The Forum was organised and chaired by Seamus Gallen of Enterprise Ireland for the first 15 years, after which time he was succeeded by Ted Parslow.\u00a0 Until Covid 19, Enterprise Ireland supported and facilitated four meetings per year at the Digital Depot in Dublin and the Irish Computer Society hosted one of the meetings.\u00a0 Currently two meetings per year are facilitated online by the ICS and the September and March meetings are held live.<\/p>\n
